Dr. Sylvia Ojoo

Dr. Sylvia Ojoo is a Medical Doctor and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland, in the US.  She holds a MBChB from the University of Nairobi, Kenya as well as a Postgraduate diploma in Internal Medicine – MRCP (London, UK).

She also holds Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and of Family Planning and Reproductive Health. Dr.Ojoo has been involved in clinical capacity building of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students both in the United Kingdom and in Kenya for the past 10 years and is currently responsible for the capacity building in a program providing HIV treatment to over 40,000 patients in Kenya, with all services provided in the primary care setting.

She is the Country Medical Director for University of Maryland’s Programs in Kenya.
